One of the more unknown jobs is the job of a Biomedical Scientist. Scientists in this field use their scientific research to improve human health. They design studies to test and develop treatment plans, study medicines, to investigate things that cause diseases, and chronic (lasting for a long time)illnesses, and develop social programs that can improve outcomes in population health.
If a career in Biomedical Science interests you, you will need a Bachelor’s Degree (a Master’s is optional) in biology, chemistry, or biomedical sciences. Strong problem-solving and communication skillsare recommended to become a biomedical scientist.
As a biomedical scientist, you will perform a key role in screening for diseases, identifying those caused by bacteria and viruses, and monitoring the effects of medication and other treatments. You will need to be able to work with technology to succeed in this career. Interestingly, some biomedical scientists work in schools or pharmacys, however most work in a laboratory environment.
